Color of Teal was founded in 2011, and is an all-volunteer ovarian cancer advocacy organization based in the New York City area of New York.  Color of Teal is also an acronym which stands for:  Curing Our Ladies through Ovarian Research of Teaching Educational Awareness and Leadership.

Color of Teal was created after the passing of Miriam Valentine, who was the late mother of Color of Teal’s President, Genese Valentine.  Color of Teal is made up of survivors, supporters, caregivers, friends and families who have been touched by ovarian cancer.  Color of Teal concentrates its efforts in the New York City area, and surrounding areas of New York but we provide resources and information to all women with ovarian cancer who are looking for support.

Color of Teal is dedicated to improving the quality of life for women diagnosed with ovarian cancer and, ultimately, reducing the number who die from it.  Color of Teal educates the general public on the risk factors, symptoms, diagnosis, early detection, and various treatment methods of ovarian cancer in effort to increase awareness.

Color of Teal participates in health fairs, hosts informative workshops and presents fundraising and awareness activities for the general public.

Color of Teal provides speakers who give free educational presentations to interested community and healthcare groups.

Color of Teal provides information, resources and support to women who are newly diagnosed and also sponsors an ovarian cancer support group.

Our organization is growing!
